30 Second Fantastic Fest Bumpers - Check 'em out!

If you’re like us, you’ve been to many, many film festival screenings in your life. And if you’re *exactly* like us, you’ve developed a pet peeve for that moment when the lights first go down at a festival screening, when you’re forced to sit through the exact same “Welcome to Our Festival!” identifying spot over and over and over again.

It just so happens that the same group of people who run Fantastic Fest (“us”) also run Austin's premiere filmmaking competition website, Filmmaking Frenzy. We put out the call last month for filmmakers to create 30 second bumpers for the festival, with the goal in mind of creating enough of them that we could have a different bumper for every film!

The ONLY rules were that it had to feature a child under the age of 18 in some way, shape, or manner, the film had to have some "fantastic" element (horror, sci-fi, fantasy, supernatural, crime, action, basically anything that enters into any realm of fantasy or is really cool) and that the last line of your video has to end with the word, “fantastic.” Other than that, we wanted to see anything and everything you can come up with. One of these proved to be too hot/morally questionable for the internet (!) and had to be pulled from the site, but it will be making a shocking reappearance at Fantastic Fest itself.

You can check out all of the Fantastic Fest bumpers on the Filmmaking Frenzy website. Vote for your favorite bumper and that film will be awarded at the Fantastic Fest awards ceremony!
