A Few Updates from Fantastic Fest

1) PLEASE ENTER YOUR BADGE DATA
Did you get an email from us requesting information and a shaky face photo for your badge? 42% of you have entered your info, 29% of you have uploaded a photo. Of those 29%, some are what I will call "novelty" photos. This ain't your Facebook photo kids, we're looking for an actual photo of you, one where you are shaking your face and flashing a still photo. Folks who sent in clip art or unidentifiable photos or photos in scuba gear or photos with your head exploded... I like your spirit, but we need an actual photo of your face for the badge, otherwise you are going to have to wait in a long line during badge pickup to take your photo and print your badge.

And to the 58% of you guys who haven't submitted anything yet... get on the stick! If you have any questions about entering your data, please contact andrew@originalalamo.com.

2) SECRET SCREENINGS AND CLOSING NIGHT FILM
These weren't listed in the original posting of showtimes. We've added one secret screening on Tuesday and the closing night film is posted (but is still secret). We'll be adding a couple more soon, too, so stay tuned!

3) FREE OUTDOOR SCREENING OF MAD MAX
Mad Max was initially supposed to play at Republic Square Park. Beer service became an issue there, so we moved it to screen in the parking lot of South Lamar. I don't know about you, but when watching Aussie Exploitation, I need a shrimp from the barbie in one hand and a Foster's oil can in the other. We'll have both. Bring a Lawn chair this Friday the 12th to Alamo South Lamar and join us.

4) ROOM OF DEATH ON MONDAY - FREE
I saw ROOM OF DEATH at the Berlin Film Market and REALLY liked it. Strange, tense, gruesome, occasionally funny and containing a sexually-charged lesbian taxidermy plot thread, ROOM OF DEATH was PERFECT for Fantastic Fest. The timing just didn't work out, however, so we opted for the next best thing. We have partnered with our pals at the Austin Gay and Lesbian Film Festival to bring the film to Austin early. The film screens as part of the AGLIFF film festival on September 4, and we are offering a free screening for Fantastic Fest Badge Holders at the Ritz on Monday, September 8 at 9:45 PM. More info on the Fantastic Fest Facebook Group

We'll be posting up more blog posts and facebook updates on a daily basis now that we are a mere 12 days away from the opening day! Stay tuned and we'll see you all very soon.

The women's shakey face photos (at least the two I have participated in) tend to be more about the shakey hair, not the shakey face. I SWEAR you can identify women by their highlights!

Tim, when can we find out more about the changes to the ticketing process this year? How is the system going to work for those with VIP badges vs. non-VIP badges as far as the daily ticket assignments go? Thanks!

Yeah, I'm a guy and have long hair, b-side handle is "psychedelic", and I put it back in a pony tail so you could see my face when shaking. Probably a good tip for shaking long-hairs out there who like to stare when shaking bare.
